About Calendar Schedule Admissions Process Forms and Handbook Early Childhood PTA Early Childhood Staff
The PTA, Parent Teacher Association, has set up several committees that are open to all families of our Playschool and Preschool. It is our hope this year that you can find a little time to volunteer in any capacity that you feel comfortable with. Meetings for these committees described below are held regularly. The purpose of these committees is to encourage family involvement in our dynamic early childhood program while supporting the program through various activities. We understand the limitations of busy parents, but also see the wonderful blossoming that takes place as members of our school ‘family’ volunteer their time to help support our growing community and children.
Social Action/Cultural Identity The Social Action Committee organizes activities and events, often with the participation of the children, which will benefit the community. The purpose of the social action committee is to familiarize the children with the ideas of mitzvot and tzedakah. Prior year events have included coat/pajama drives, a food drive for Mitzvah Food Pantry, collecting classroom tzedakah and Alex’s Lemonade Stand.
Development/Fundraising The development/fundraising committee organizes events which will raise funds to support our school and our scholarship fund. The purpose of the scholarship funds is to provide financial support to those families who wish to enroll their child in our early childhood program and would not be able to do so without auxiliary funding. Prior year projects include challah sales, t-shirt sales, community cookbook, and KidStuff coupons book sales.
Classroom/Parent Relations Each classroom will have two parent representatives, Class Parents, who will serve as a liaison between the classroom teacher and the parents. The Class Parents may also organize classroom events and assist with field trips, class gifts, help organize a classroom schedule for weekly challah distribution, as well as reach out to families with new additions or with passings.
